Värmland is a county in the western part of middle Sweden, bordering lake Vänern, Norway, and the counties Dalarna and Örebro.

  • Boat tour to Lurö in the archipelago of lake Vänern

  • Fishing: You need to buy a fishing license (except in lake Vänern)
  • Bicycle rents available, in Karlstad centre you can borrow a bike for free during the day (only in summer)
  • Klarälvbanan: former railroad track, now for use by bycilclists and skaters. 90km of car-free, plane asphalt route.
  • Paddling: Several places rent kayaks and canoes.
  • Rent a draisine and go back and forth between Stjärnfors to Hagfors
  • Build a raft and use it for floating downstreams on Klarälven.
  • Husky-tour and Moose safaris

Karlstad The town library in Karlstad offers free internet. Ask one of the librarians behind the desk to help you out. Convieniently, the library, or Biblioteket, is located directly above the tourist information center in Karlstad.
