Talk:WordPress
The CouchSurfing Wiki, an informal workspace which anyone can edit.
My impression is that keeping up a blogging platform is a lot of work: it must be always up because bloggers perceive their blog as part of themselves and ti cannot be down, never! It might also happen that we get a lot of requests about "how do i do this on my blog?" and that replying takes a lot of time.
Maybe it is better to just rely on wordpress.com and point CSers there with a link like, open your blog on wordpress.com. Maybe we could provide a style (or css) that CSers can adopt when they create a blog on wordpress.com so that they look a bit like couchsurfingish and link to couchsurfing and use the couchsurfing tag so that they get aggregated (by technorati.com for instance).
Maybe we could even wite to Matt Mullenweg, main developer of wordpress (and of wordpress.com) asking if he could reserve all the nicks that ends with ".couchsurfing" and then place a link or a procedure that automatically creates a blog such as your_nick_on_couchsurfing.couchsurfing.wordpress.com, for example my blog might be at "phauly.couchsurfing.wordpress.com" and directly linked from my CS profile page.
Summaryzing I think maintaining a blogging platform might become a source of troubles and it might be better to think clever way to use existing infrastructures.
