Environmental friendly companies

  • CarbonNeutral

The CarbonNeutral Company 2 Bravington House, Bravington Walk, Regent Quarter, Kings Cross, London N1 9AF

Int-44-(0)207 8336022 (Direct) Int-44-(0)207 8336000 (Switchboard) carbon neutral

The CarbonNeutral Company is one of the world’s leading climate change businesses. How it works is this, when we fly we calculate how much CO2 we need to offset. Then we can give money to brilliant projects (like hydropower in Bulgaria, solar projects in Sri Lanka, or reforestation in Mozambique- that also benefit the surrounding communities) for the amount of Carbon we released by flying.

Most of us fly, so if we're thinking long term about the environment then this is a way to give a little bit back. I can't imagine having a travel sho that reflects the values of CS without something like this being involved.

Vegan, animal friendly companies

Amylin is a great CouchSurfer who is currently with us working at the mini-collective in Quincy CA. She is a vegan and she came up with a list of companies that make great organic food that could make some great sponsors for the show:

  • After the Fall (Smucker's)
  • Amy's Organics
  • Annie's Naturals
  • Arrowhead Mills (Hain Celestial)
  • Bonne Marman
  • Clif Bar (indie-owned)
  • Gardenburger
  • Health Valley (Hain Celestial)
  • Honest Tea
  • Nature's Path (indie-owned)
  • Newman's Own (donates 100% of proceeds to charity)
  • Tom's of Maine (Colgate-Palmolive)
  • POM Wonderful (tests on animals!)
  • Soy Delicious (Turtle Mountain)
  • *Kashi (now owned by Kellogg's)
  • Seventh Generation
  • Santa Cruz Organics (now owned by Smucker's)
  • Westbrae (Hain Celestial)
  • Yves (Hain Celestial)
  • Lightlife (ConAgra)
  • Smart Deli (ConAgra)
  • Cascadian Farm (General Mills)
  • Terra (Hain Celestial)
  • Good Health
  • Good Earth (tea)
  • Tazo (Starbucks)
  • Yogi Tea
  • Traditional Medicinals
  • Garden of Eatin' (Hain Celestial)
  • Naked Juice (independently-owned bought by PepsiCo)
  • Odwalla (bought out by Coca Cola)
  • Kettle Chips
  • Jason Natural Cosmetics (Hain Celestial)
  • Dr. Bronner's (magic soap)
  • Silk (the first company to introduce soy milk; owned by Dean Foods)
  • 8th Continent (i don't think they're indie... not sure)
  • Sweetriot (small indie company, just started, brand new)
  • Dagoba (mostly fair-trade)
  • Green & Black's (not indie anymore)
  • Tofutti
  • Stonyfield Farms (not all vegan, some soy yogurt, rest is dairy organic yogurt; owned by Danone)
  • Nasoya
  • Vegenaise
  • Trader Joe's
  • Green Mountain Coffee (i'm pretty sure it's indie and fair-trade)
  • Jim's Organic Coffee
  • Nectar of Life
  • Grounds for Change
  • Horizon Foods (Dean Foods)
  • Rice Dream / Soy Dream (owned by the hain/celestial group)
  • Nantucket Nectars (not indepently owned)
  • Back to Nature (bought out by Kraft, but they make the BEST vegan cookies)

This is all good and should be put into an organic food category. The problem is that it doesn't give us any contact info. And very little actual information about the company. When you submit please take the time to send in the contact info and information on how to go about approaching them for sponsorship.
