Hiking in Catalonia
The CouchSurfing Wiki, an informal workspace which anyone can edit.
Catalonia is a great place to hike, climb and ski. Its mild weather and its orography is great to practice mountain sports all year long. Catalonia has also a long tradition in hiking, climbing and skiing with clubs all over the country.
Planning a trip
Route
Try to plan a route according accessible to the people involve in it. Some paths can be scary to some people that are not use to it or for people that is afraid to heights. In that case, ask them. If your are not very used to hiking try to choose frequented areas and trailed paths. Some path are really well tracked and have many signs. As a exemple:

Timing
Try to plan a trip acording to the time you have and the people involve it. Remember that the major cost in time is gap uphill and downhill. Try to calculate the overall gap. For a person that is not trained think as 3-4 hours every 1000m high. In the spring, summer and early autumn storms are more likely to happen after 3-5 p.m. Try to be at your destination after that time. (wake up early!). Waking up early is safer and will also avoid the major heat of the day during the warm months.
