Ferrara is a province capital in the region of Emilia Romagna, northern Italy. It has 131,907 inhabitants. It is located on the railway line from Bologna to Padova and very close to the river Po, the longest river of Italy, and boundary between Veneto and Emilia Romagna.

The main landmark of Ferrara is the Estense Castle, in the very center of the city, and UNESCO declared the city center as World Heritage.
