Bassano del Grappa (shortly Bassano) is a nice and medium sized town in the province of Vicenza, in Veneto region, North East Italy. It has 40,411 inhabitants and has a small but quite active community of friends and Couchsurfers. The number of Couchsurfers is 17 (same number as a city like Ferrara) at the moment and 80% of them has a photo on his/her profile. There are many meetings happening during the year and linked to popular events in the town.

Bassano can be considered a good option for those who can't find a couch in Venice, Padova or Treviso and want to experience the more relaxed life in a small city of the northern east part of Italy, nearby nature and mountains, with a cute old town and the famous wooden bridge (Ponte degli Alpini).

Transports

Bassano is 50km far from Padova and Venice. It takes about 1 hour by train to get to both the big cities.
