Alberta is a province in Western Canada. Its administrative centre and capital city is Edmonton, in the centre of the province and its other major city is Calgary in the south. The northern areas of the province are largely deserted, save for mineral extraction industries and smaller towns.
Alberta is a diverse province, with landscape ranging from 5,000m+ high peaks in the Canadian Rockies to the wide, expansive prairies of the eastern part of the province.
