worldparty is a 'bot for twitter that offers a number of features:

  • if you tell worldparty that you're free, it will give you an assignment
  • worldparty watches what people on twitter wish for, and tries to find someone who can offer it
  • worldparty let's twitterers declare "global moments"--brief activities which everyone on earth can participate in

Larger Goals

It is hoped that Random Action, its technology and its community, will be major enabling factors in building the Adventure Economy, and that "Random Acts of Kindness and Senseless Beauty" emerge as a new social and economic order, along-side market, state, and firm-based methods of provisioning goods and services to the people who want and need them.

One of our primary goals is to make choosing positive action-- collaborating on some beautiful project or engaging in a beautiful social act-- as easy as choosing passive consumption-- watching TV or listening to music. We think we can use technology to make positive action and easier and more accessible choice than it has been, and that when presented with an easy and accessible alternative, many people will choose to live differently.
