The CouchSurfing Wiki, an informal workspace which anyone can edit.
Hey man you know you can create internal links to mainsite pages instead of making them external links. This way we can really distingiush between internal links and off-site links.
- Regular internal link: Ambassadors
- Internal link pointing to non-wiki page on main site: Messages
- the same page as external link Messages
- real external link Google
the difference is using :couchsurfing: I hope this helps --Metal.lunchbox 18:50, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Internal Links(parte deux)
well first off I wouldn't worry too much about it especially for temporary stuff like your newletter, which I think is an awesome Idea by the way, great use of the wiki.
General
- Groups: Ambassador's Public = Ambassador's Public = name of group
- Member: Me = Me = user's name
- Page on site: Statistics = Statistics = name of page
If you leave out the first colon you get a link on the sidebar such as this one csgroup:5084. This is useful for location pages, you can have a link of the side to the group as well as wikitravel and wikipedia. just check out Nashville for an example. dont worry about working out the internal link for posts that you'll be linking to temporarily in the newletter. It doesn't make a real difference and doing it would make a lot of work for you.
Better explanation of links
I found this and thought it would be far more useful to you and others than the above explanation- links --Metal.lunchbox 21:15, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Great Ideas
Hey man I love that you made this Great ideas page. I was wondering what you thought about having a little table to make things more readable and to organize the ongoing process, since we don't have a bug tracker type of system.
| Ten popular ideas for improving CS | |||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Idea | link | ||||
| 1. Double Profiles | [1] | ||||
| 2. xxxxx | [2] | ||||
| 3. xxxxx | [3] | ||||
| 4. xxxxx | [4] | ||||
etc etc. we could collaborate on something a little more meaningful but I think the idea could still be valuable. you'd click on the name of the idea and it would take you to that subheading. The meaning of the colors could be changed around but green would mean that it is already implemented, red means all the volunteer work is done, just waiting to be implemented by the tech team. yellow means that there is a clear agreed upon description of the idea and how it would work, this collected from the groups and developed a little bit, orange means that there is something like a draft proposal. We could also add column for target dates and all that. If you look at the code for the table it looks a little messy but with Parser Functions I could make the input process very tidy. Just tell me what you think. --Metal.lunchbox 04:38, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
hey man, i hope you are ok with the way i structured the Great_ideas page? it's your baby, afer all :) i just thought it's more readable like that, but it's far from "final"... cheers --tomvienna 09:25, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
tomvienna, everything is good and by the way it belongs to all of us so feel free to improve and add --leimondo 12:00pm 15/11/07 Australian Alps
