Glad you're enthusiastic about participating!
I don't see any changes made to the Goals page - but you wrote a comment for me, so you have learnt how to edit a page :) You could try again, or try testing with the Sandbox page to get an idea of how to play with editing & formatting - I find the best way to learn is to play around with something (and with a wiki there is no need to worry about breaking anything!)
Perhaps this page: Participate in the NZC, and this page: NZC Discussions Schedule might be useful for you to have a look at if you're interested in presenting a topic for discussion.
I would also add that the Collective Group would be a good place to talk to people about the issues you're interested in.
If you have further questions about the wiki, I'd recommend talking to Kasper, who runs this wiki, and will be able to give much more authoritative answers than me =)
