Upper Austria is one of the nine federal states of Austria. It's capital is Linz.

CouchSurfing in Upper Austria
Upper Austria has a continually growing and increasingly active CS community. Currently, there are about 750 CouchSurfers living in Upper Austria, more than 300 of them in the capital Linz.
Finding a Couch and CouchSurfers in Upper Austria: Finding a host in Upper Austria depends a lot on the area you are travelling to. In Linz it is usually very easy to find a host. In most of the other cities you might as well be lucky enough to find some CouchSurfers who can host you. In smaller towns, villages or remote areas it might, however, be rather difficult to find CouchSurfers at all. Please use the CouchSearch tool to find CouchSurfers in Upper Austria - you can either choose the "Location by text entry" feature and directly enter the village or city name or the "Location by selection" feature where you select: Europe/Austria/Upper Austria/%city name%.
If you do not find CouchSurfers that way it might be helpful to post a message in the Upper Austria Group. There might at least be some people in the group who know the area and can help you somehow.
Please note that this does not make up for searching couches and writing personal CouchRequests. Just in case you do not find CouchSurfers in remote areas a posting in the group might help to get some more information.
Meeting CouchSurfers in Upper Austria: There are monthly regular CS meetings and at least weekly spontaneous meet ups taking place in Linz where all CouchSurfer who are living or travelling in the region are very welcome. To find out what's going on in Upper Austria you can check out the postings in the Upper Austria Group, the Linz Group or the entries in the CouchSurfing Event Calendar for Linz. You could also have a look at the Events Page and search for events in Europe/Austria/Upper Austria. If you do not find anything for the time you are staying in Upper Austria but would like to meet other CouchSurfers just post a message in the Upper Austria Group or ask your host about events.
CS Guides: Usually the CouchSurfers in Upper Austria indicate in their CouchDescription if they can show you around. So, first of all, it is advisable to read the profiles and to ask your host if she/he can/has time to show you around. Your host might also know some other local CouchSurfers who could show you around instead.
