TripTracker
The CouchSurfing Wiki, an informal workspace which anyone can edit.
TripTracker ([1]) is essentially a trip visualization tool. Photos and notes about locations are mapped to a series of locations in order to create a Virtual Trip.

Why
- This is just another great way to capture the memories of a CS experience
- Track the journey of your own trip, a friends journey, or someone who has requested to stay with you.
- They also have a really neat Slideshow Viewer API which could be integrated into CS. API ([2])
Example of Map with images and sample text
How
- Places visited, including CS couches, could be mapped using this site
- I don't know too much about TripTracker, but work with them to add additional functionality to integrate into CS
Advantages
- Would be a great way for CS'ers to connect with each other and share their stories
Disadvantages
- Do not know much about TripTracker and their willingness to work with CS...yet
- Their Slidehow Viewer API license is currently $25 (as of 12/21/06). Otherwise the site is free to use and free to create an account.

- As a whole, TripTracker is a free service and they seem to be open to the idea of suggestions and new uses for their product. While CS does have it's own version of a Photo Album, TripTracker would enable CS'ers to upload photos and blogs to a series of locations that creates a "Virtual Trip." To me, this would be a great extension to the current capabilities.
