Talk:Tech News
From the CouchSurfing Wiki, an informal workspace which anyone can edit.
Reorganized - the bugs & features (ie community issues) first, people building it second. Goal of the Tech News page was to provide solution for people needing to know what's going on with bugs and to reduce CUQs (as this page was directly linked from contact.html), so answers to those concerns should always come first. Will surely change as the CUQ FAQ project will be tackled soon, but until then keep this organization. Anu 23:17, 7 December 2006 (EST)
Polls are available in the groups, contact the group moderator to have polls available in a specific group.
- Disadvantage
- When moderator is travelling
reduce CUQs Suggestion Have an automated system and a lot of FAQ.FAQ should also be sent in the automated new greetings. CouchSurfing - FAQ 2K6 update
New Ambassador system with 4 different roles has been on the works and is ready for release Question Discussion before release. OR a wiki page ?
to this end some back-end work has been done for Contact us section Question What does some back-end work mean?
Question Can Anyone edit this page or only Anu ?
Thanks for the feedback!
1. Groups can either have polls made by anyone or only the group moderator - it's a setting for each group. This decision was made by the admins. If/when polls are made available for everyone to make by group mod anyone can go and make them - after the initial bottle-neck there should be no prob with travelling moderators.
2. We have a CUQ-oriented FAQ page on the wiki - I will link to it from the news page and maybe send a message to the greeters.
3. What you see on the Amb levels page are the specifications for the system - this was worked on by the admins & experienced ambassadors. "Release" means that people who have applied to become ambassadors will be granted access to ambassador tools that have been coded & beta-tested recently.
4. Improving the system we use to answer CUQs - as this is on need-to-know basis there's no need to specify the details. (but this work includes the [[publicly available FAQ)
5. Anyone CAN edit (typo-eradication would be appreciated :) but I will be checking the facts - makes sense as I do know what's going on behind the scenes a bit more than a non-developer and out of the current set of developers seem to care the most about keeping people updated on what's going on.
