Talk:How to be a good guest
The CouchSurfing Wiki, an informal workspace which anyone can edit.
Some things I think sound strange:
"5. Do not ask unnecessary personal questions." How boring would that be without talking about personal things? Sorry, but this starts sounding like advices to hotel staff for their guests...
"1. Do offer your host to cook as well if he cooks for you (the host might enjoy that a lot)" Better only if you really can cook... :P
"3. Do not party without your host except he tells you to go partying (depending on the host if he has time for you or not)" Erg. Just do what mumi tells you to do? Thats bullshit. Better: If you wanna stay out late arrange that with your host before coming back late.
"Send a old fashioned postcard from somewhere else of your trip or from back home that makes your host feel good." Oh dear. Yeah, may be nice. I guess an Email after some weeks will be fine as well...
Maybe to add this: "If you didnt know any of the things above before reading that, think about if couchsurfing really is something for you..."
- Feel free to edit the article! :) I will try to use some suggestions right now. Guaka 23:56, 13 September 2006 (EST)

Please add to the etiquettes that if you've asked for a couch and got a "OK- come!" response then you should tell your host-to-be if you will _not_ make use of this. Often you're in trouble when hurrying through the continents. Then you ask more than one host-to-be at the sam time. That's ok. But finally you can only follow one invitation a time, so you should clean the no-host's schedule as soon as possible.
- I've put that into the wiki now. Please have a look. rudelheinz
Suggestion
I would like to move this two points
- 1.1 While searching for a Couch
- 1.2 Asking more than one host at the same time
to Searching_for_a_couch, it is not exactly about being a good guest and there is a similiar page for hosts as well Handling_a_CouchSurfing_request
