21 October - You can now link to the CS Wiki with URLs like wiki.couchsurfing.com/en/News. -> http://couchsurfing.com/wikiguide.html doesn't work anymore.

Watch it!

Please put Template:News and this page on your Watchlist. It might be on the CS Main Page one of these days. You can simply follow this and this link. GuakaTalkCS 18:24, 24 October 2006 (EDT)

protect?

shall we protect this page, just like the main page? since it's accesible from CS home page it's more exposed to spam/vandals... --PabloBD 16:57, 25 October 2006 (EDT) EDIT: I protect since it was vandalized again --PabloBD 17:01, 25 October 2006 (EDT)

Eh, no, it should be easy for anyone to add news. And it's not on the Main Page anymore. It will be on the Main Page of beta.couchsurfing.com as soon as I get that stuff sorted out though :) GuakaTalkCS 02:39, 27 October 2006 (EDT)

I feel wikied news on CS front page is a bit too much - I mean can we/anyone watch it constantly to keep the vandals out? And so far THOSE news has been for major site announcements, which I think will get cluttered by all the stuff people decide to put on the wiki spot.

Maybe we could have something like speaker's corner for anyone to "broadcast" their CS-related news, but in a place a BIT less public than the front page! (but still viewable etc) Anu 08:57, 27 October 2006 (EDT)

To CSWikiNjus editor

Who will NOT read this but HAS been identified, but anyhow... What was the purpose of that? Repeatedly vandalizing the news page just to prove how bad the wiki is - now THAT's what I call cheap. Thanks for the "contribution"... Anu 00:20, 28 October 2006 (EDT)

how old?

How old should be the news here? 15 days? one month? --PabloBD 14:34, 8 December 2006 (EST)

Exactly - it seems to be getting a bit long on the Main Page, perhaps we should archive news items older than 1 month (or only show the latest 10 items?) --CalumTalkCS 18:21, 9 December 2006 (EST)
