Content 3rd Swiss newsletter

List of topics you suggested:

  • reminder of regular meetings: Lausanne, Basel, Bern, Zurich, Geneva, Neuchatel, ... (Tooki)
  • reminder of European and International meetings (Paella 09, Vienna Calling)
  • reminder of google calendar (Tooki)
  • reminder of general rules (Fabian)
  • reminder of Picasa albums (Wicher)
  • how to write a couch request (link to the wiki) (Fabian)
  • code of conduct (link) (Fabian)
  • promote and stimulate people to use (and expand) the CS Swiss wiki (and the wiki in general) (Fabian)
  • ask people if they want to volunteer and help in the community (in order to maybe get more ambassadors one fine day since everybody is leaving) (Tanja)
  • invitation to swiss inhabitants to join Switzerland group and to show a warm welcoming while couch request/ information requests are posted in Switzerland group (Tooki)
  • explanation of role of Switzerland group (whats the purpose really?, not for business, not for couchrequests, how to deal with advertisement such as meetings from other countries... etc...) (Tooki, Tanja)
  • how to use the meeting page to create a meeting and send out invitations (Vince)
  • explaining the role of (city/nomadic) ambs (what can they do for you?) (Wicher)

Brainstorm for our National Gathering

Let's brainstorm :=)))

  • no advertissement other country group (Tooki)
  • event that can federate the maximum of swiss members (Tooki)
  • may include one hour of FAQ about CS (Tooki, Tanja: very good idea, and telling the members what we, "the ambs" do and what we dont)
  • bring some latino musics (Fabian)
  • march it CAN be nice, but also freezingly cold... (Fabian)
  • Maybe we can organize a visit of a factory (like cheese or chocolate), a special swiss buffet, some typical swiss music and ??? (Giuze)
  • If Chocolate factory: Villars in Fribourg (Tanja: its probably too far from Bern? Transportation?, Fabian)
  • visiting the refurbished federal palace in Bern? (tooki)
  • Visiting the Museum of Communication seems to be very cool (www.mfk.ch) even for non-german speakers (Kaja). Plus funny introduction to Swiss dialect comparing them, if foreign guests (Tanja)
  • A nice hiking tour where you have to drive 15 minutes by train from Berne and walk back into the town within 3 or 4 hours (Kaja)
  • For those who haven't done it at the last big event in Berne: Our famous treasure hunt through the city of Berne (Kaja)
  • Ice skating together. Great for laughing at each other :D (Kaja)
  • I can teach a group of 10-20 people how to cook something russian (Kaja, Tanja: definitely up for that Kaja I can be your assistant!)
  • Bern has that cute clock! Maybe you could get some people to dress up as the characters from the clock and put on a 'life size' performance in the square. Or have the ambs dress up as bears to welcome people. (Lindsay)
  • Free Hugs (Fabian, Tanja) to reply to Fabians post, its easy to split up to teams and stand in different places.
  • Potluck dinner, everybody brings something from his region, if possible or some "Grandma-Recepie-Food" Problem: to find a location for that, so we can all be together enjoy the dinner and talk accompanied by some typical Bernese music? You might have a band in the Bernese CS community?(Tanja)
  • Berne tour for "foreigners" and introduction to the Bernese way of living... (Tanja)
  • Rent a nice bar for Saturday evening and have a great party there. For example the ONO (http://www.onobern.ch) (Hannes)
