South America

In South America there are relatively less CouchSurfers than in Europe or North America. It provides only 3.4% of the couches (with more than 5700 couchsurfers as february 2007).
Most young people live with their parents until they get married. When you surf couches you will usually stay with families.
Many of these countries still need a lot of Exotic Couch Acquisition.
