Search via the map

It would be wonderful to be able to zoom into a location using the Google Maps interface and then have all of the couchsurfers within the visible region added to the map.

As a starting example (one of the zillions out there), www.geocaching.com offers a kml/kmz feed for finding caches. Once you have the feed the CS-ers can be followed up either on G Maps or Google Earth.
