Salzburg is the capital of "Salzburg Land", which is one of the 9 "States" in Austria. We are also the city with the second most tourists in the whole country, after Vienna, with about 1,300,000 tourists a year.

Welcome to Salzburg

How can I get to Salzburg? What can I do? Where can I go? Well, let's start the tour then :)

Getting here

Salzburg Airport If you take the bus it's about a 20 minute drive to the main trainstation of Salzburg. You take the Bus line number 2 direction "Obergniegl". A one way ticket costs you 1.80 Euros. (Tipp:: if you know your gonna need the bus all day buy a 24h ticket, that costs 4.20 Euros by the driver (3.60 E by any Traffik or Ticket Mashine)it will last you from the time you bought it till 24 hours on the next day. Very useful :)

The Train Station Here pretty much all busses go and can take you whereever you like! Timetables and Routes

Where can I go crazy????

Dancing

  • Republic - In the day it's a pretty good restaurant and cafĂ©. Tuesday's they have Salsa nights and on Friday it's always free with mostly pretty good electronic music. On Saturday's it can be that they ask for entrance (mostly 5 Euros), according to the Event it can also be 10. But watch out! Drinks are pretty expensive.
  • Half Moon - That's right next to the Republic and is a pretty cool place. They have sofas you can ly on, a small dancefloor, but for that it has enough people to have fun with.
  • Shamrock - The most popular Irish Pub in Salzburg, situated on the "Rudolfs Kai", they have live music every night and usually also play cool stuff. You'll find all sorts of people in here and of all ages.
  • Jazz It- It's 2 minutes from the train station and if there is an event it's a hell of an awesome place to go. They mostly have concerts or student organized parties, which is great. Entrance (depending on the event) from 3 Euros up.
