Otago varies from the adventure dream land of Queenstown to the rugged coast of the South Pacific. The surrounding ski fields are filled in winter, while in summer the highest temperatures of the country are found in Alexandra in the high thirties. Wanaka offers a different pace while Cromwell is in the heart of many orchards. The largest city is Dunedin which has the largest and oldest university and interesting wildlife can be found on the peninsula and south in The Catlins.
