The metropolis of the Moravian-Silesian region is, with its area, the second largest and with the number of its residents the third largest city in the Czech Republic. It has got a very advantageous strategic position - it is located about 10 kilometres south from the borders with Poland and 50 kilometres west of the borders with Slovakia. The distance of Ostrava from Praha is 360 Km, from Brno 170 Km, 90 Km from the Polish City of Katowice, and 310 Km from Vienna. There are the rivers of Odra, Ostravice, Opava, and Lučina flowing through the City.

How to get there

The ticket from Ostrava to Prague costs only 10euro (or some journey only 6euro - at 12:00). I can wait you at bus station. The BUS is going from BUS station Prague-Florenc at 5:15, 8:30, 12:00, 14:00 or 16:00 and the ride is 5hour long.
