Moia

Moia is a small town situated between Manresa and Vic, 58km from Barcelona and relatively close to the 'jagged mountain' Montserrat. A bit more that 5500 people live in Moia.

There are regular busses going to Moia from Barcelona, which take 1,5 hours. It departs from Passeig de San Juan in Barcelona, 5 blocks up from Arc de Triomf. A single ticket costs 6 euro's.

Hosts

As of October 2006 there is one CouchSurfing host in Moia. Raegen is a Canadian running some kind of retreat center up in these hills. She lives in the main street, right in the center of town.

Meetings

End november 2006 Moia suddenly saw the coming of 16 couchsurfers. Raegen hosted them all in one weekend to show them the town. The people of Moia were very happy to receive all these Couchsurfers.

A baby was rescued from drowning and became the mascot of that weekend. Rumours have it Moia will have more meetings coming up for the future. Write an e-mail to Raegen to stay up-to-date.

To do

Moia has a nice church, and many houses build with beautiful old stone. Outside of Moia there are nice things to visit, such as lakes and caves.

It is not hard to find fine restaurants and bars in Moia. It is a small town, with only some squares. The most famous bar-disco is called La Tosca and is open in the weekends until 6am.
