St.Kilda

With its beach and backpacker hostels, parties, Luna Park, Espy, Acland street and Fitzroy street, St Kilda is often considered the heart of Melbourne's alternative lifestyle community.

Nightlife

The Esplanade hotel (Espy) is a great place to go for a first night out in Melbourne. It's in St Kilda, by the beach, and has live music and a great atmosphere every night. St Kilda has great food available at reasonable prices from the many restaurants and take aways and a busy party atmosphere.

The Prince on Fitzroy street is a bar with an upstairs live music venue.Hosting names such as The Streets, Peaches, MIA and heaps more, there are international bands playing there nearly every night of the week. Catch the tram #96 (St Kilda Beach) from Bourke street in the CBD.

If you are up at the wee small hours you'll want to head to Revolver (Chapel St, Prahan) & try your chances at getting in (when this place is packed forget about getting in unless you are female or have females in your group). & also be warned this club pretty much runs 24hrs over the weekend, so if u get too carried away you may end up spending days there.
