General Information

Lucerne is a small city in Switzerland located on the shore of Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstätter See) near the well known Mountains Rigi and Pilatus.

Lucerne (Luzern in German) may be Switzerland's most popular tourist destination. It's an essential stop on European bus tours that spend a day or two in Switzerland, and no wonder: the scenery is breathtaking, the town is dotted with medieval structures, mountain and lake excursions are nearby, and attractions like the Kapelbrücke (Chapel Bridge), Old town (Neustadt), and several museums like for example the Verkehrshaus (Swiss Transportation Museum)

The easiest way to get to Lucerne is by public transport, mainly by train. The trainstation is located very central with the bus terminal and the boats nearby.
