Kheechan is 5 Km from Phalodi.Phalodi is a Tehsil Head Quarter and a Sub-Division of Jodhpur district.
It is about 130 Km from Jodhpur and well connected by train and bus. Kheechan is temporary abode of migrating bird Deemoiselle Cranes.This bird is known as Kurjan in Rajasthan due to sound of krok-krok that they produce.
This migrating bird is seen as messenger to send a love message to far off beloved requesting him to come back home.This folk song "Kurjan" is very popular amongst folklore.
The best time to see these bird is in winters from October to February.
