Desires page

The CouchSurfing Wiki, an informal workspace which anyone can edit.

I'd like to add an optional thing you can add to your profile called "desires":

There would be a new tab under "edit profile" called "desires" which would lead to checkboxes:

[ ] I want to be smarter.

[ ] I want to really see people.

[ ] I want to be more stylish.

[ ] I want to have more [[peace]] and quiet time in my life.

[ ] I want to meet people from all over the world.

[ ] I want to talk about my emotions and deep desires more.

[ ] I want to spend more time drinking and dancing and going out.

[ ] I want to spend more time finding beauty in my own backyard.

[ ] I want to spend more time in contemplation.

[ ] I want to be louder and more outgoing.

... etc ...

And then when you go to someone's profile, if they've filled this out and so have you, you get a little box that says:

YOU BOTH:
	- want to be more stylish
	- want to talk about your emotions and deep desires more

So if you're hosting them or surfing them or otherwise meeting them, you can take your mutual desires into account.

Does it make sense? Any additions, suggestions re: wording, etc?

It might be cool if it wasn't just a checkbox, but a choice. E.g. instead of being able to check both "more time in contemplation" and "louder and more outgoing", you have to choose. And maybe we should just do it OkCupid style, but different :) GuakaTalkCS 08:56, 11 December 2006 (EST)

It's a sane simplification of the ETS matchmaking idea. the "YOU BOTH" appearing like the "how do I know..." gives a quick idea of closeness. This might even lead to a more thorough study of someone's profile, once you know what to look for... thereby enhancing, not replacing the person's individual output. --Kaoxoni 00:23, 8 January 2007 (EST)
