CouchSurfing is worldwide. Cultural differences should be kept in mind throughout all developments and enhancements on CouchSurfing. It can easily happen that good intended ideas pay no attention to cultural differences or have some sort of cultural bias. Even though CouchSurfing has a community driven approach, balance is not a guarantee. The decisions we make now, might exclude people, communities or even whole cultures from CouchSurfing forever. Therefore it is important to pay special attention where such problems might emerge. The differences can range from simple technical issues (e.g. the site uses too much computer/bandwidth resources, or has features that are only significant to CS power users) and translation/definition differences, to complex things like communicating the CS mission.

Feel free to add the tag {{Balance}} where this might be the case.
