Country Coordinators

Please note that the CouchSurfing organizational structure is still in flux. The position described below is only a preposed position, and may not end up being a part of the final org structure. When the org structure is finalized, this article may be altered or deleted.
The new CS Country Coordinators could take care of all people related issues in their country. They are also free to find and define CS Country Secretaries that help them doing administrative work in their country. They should help coordinating activities and foster the process of building strong local communities. The jobs would be:
CS Country Coordinators have all the possibilities of all the CS Country Secretaries in their Country.
The job, function and possibilities of this position is very similar if not equal than the current CS Admins but limited to CS Countries and all people within that country.
Specific functions (partly from Amb3)
- Participate and help organize regular local meetings and gatherings in your city, region or country. Meetings and gatherings help greatly in sharing information about the website, and create the potential for expanding CS further into communities. Meeting people face to face also helps make connections between potential hosts and guests. That’s what we call personal service!
- Be responsible for personal verification and donation as it is done in Austria by BONTOUR and MIKKY_MOUTH.
- On a volunteer basis, you can create/help with/participate in the local Emergency List available for traveling members in your region. We want to make the site as safe as possible and we really need your help in creating the support to members. Thanks!
- Answering and helping with personal complaints and sorting out personal problems of members in your country.
- Order promotion cards to pass on to CS Country Secretaries so they can distribute on their turn. You are responsible for keeping all account information private.
- Buy stamps for your CS Country Secretaries for them to send out the verification letters. We try to minimize the number of people with whom we have to send money to so that it’s easy to keep track of. We will talk to you about how we will arrange this financially.
- Organize a local CouchSurfing Collective in your region or country and try to inclute as much of the CS Region you are in as possible. Your CS Region Coordinators will help you with that. Create an amazing gathering for volunteers to come and work with you in improving CouchSurfing 2.0. The CS Region Coordinators will communicate with the CS Global Coordinators to make sure that the whole CS Community gets most out of it by having CS Collectives coordinated amongst each other.
