CouchSurfing has a stated mission to do more than simply connecting surfers and hosts. We're all here to have fun, but we're also here to help make the world a better place. As representatives of CouchSurfing, Ambassadors have the duty to understand and promote this mission in the world, as well as to provide an example for other members.
Below is a list of the current New Zealand Ambassadors, with a list of everyone's tasks.

New Zealands City ambassadors
City Ambassadors serve CouchSurfing members around the world and serve the global community. At home and wherever they go, they promote the values that embody "the CouchSurfing spirit". City Ambassadors are also the voice and ear to their local community, and source of information for all the members of their local community.
To be of service to the membership, all Ambassadors are encouraged to join and participate in one or more of CouchSurfing's volunteer teams in order to perform at least one of the duties listed below. Most City Ambassadors contribute at least 10 hours per month.

New Zealands Nomadic ambassadors
Nomadic Ambassadors are experienced travelers for whom traveling has become a lifestyle. As avid travelers, they may have multiple places of residence and/or be constantly on the move. They are CouchSurfing field agents, and act as connectors between the many local community they visit. Duties
To be of service to the membership, Nomadic Ambassadors are encouraged to join and participate in one or more of CouchSurfing's volunteer teams in order to perform at least one of the duties listed below. Most Nomadic Ambassadors contribute at least 10 hours per month. We expect from nomadic Ambs to participate actively in the following tasks:

Country Ambassadors are experienced and dedicated Ambassadors. Country Ambassadors are not only the voice and ear to their local community, but a source of information and guidance to the City Ambassadors.
To be of service to the membership, Country Ambassadors are encouraged to join and participate in one or more of CouchSurfing's volunteer teams in order to perform at least one of their duties. Most Country Ambassadors contribute at least 20 hours per month

Global ambassador responsible for Oceania
Global Ambassadors are our most dedicated volunteers who have demonstrated their ability to lead other volunteers. Global Ambassadors are a source of information and guidance to the Country Ambassadors.
To be of service to the membership, Global Ambassadors must be supervisors of one or more of CouchSurfing's volunteer teams in addition to performing other duties. Most Global Ambassadors contribute at least 10 hours per week.
