*12th July 2008 - Bon Odori Festival 2008, Shah Alam

Synopsis : The Bon Festival is a Japanese Buddhist custom which is held annually to honour the deceased spirits of one's ancestors. It is meant to be a joyful celebration, bringing families together, and celebrating rather than mourning the lives of the dearly departed.
The Bon Odori Festival has been a fixture here in Malaysia for the last 30 odd years, and is more a festival of Japanese culture, with Japanese dances - including the traditional Bon Odori, danced specially for this occassion - music, food and lots more, presented throughout the evening.

We meet at 9:00 AM at the Terminal Putra LRT station carpark at Gombak then we embark on the drive to Jungle Lodge (www.junglelodgemalaysia.com/img/jungle_map.pdf), park our cars there and then start the approximately hour long trek through the river to the waterfall.
Carry some food items if you like and we can have a bit of a picnic in between swimming and doing whatever else it is people do at waterfalls.

Description :
Another CS Trip, this time to Malacca organised by Ken (kenishere). Highlights of the trip will be historical walks in Malacca town, seafood dinner, hangout in Jonker Street and a trip to Pulau Upeh (a small island off the coast of Malacca, it is a hawksbill turtle sanctuary).
Departure date from KL : July 18 (after work hours) or July 19 (early in the morning)
Return date from Malacca to KL : July 20 (after lunch)
Logistics : Car pull, gas and toll will be split among the passengers.
Accommodation : Budget hostels in Malacca town. * Recommended hostels are Discovery Cafe and Ringo's Foyer
