International CouchSurfing, Day June 12th 2008

The mission: organise a Meeting for the Couchsurfing Day on June 12th 2008 in as many cities and countries as we can
For more than five years, the CouchSurfing project has been changing the lives of travelers by helping them make connections with locals, their couches, their friends, and their homes.
For many of us, it has revolutionized the way we travel, giving us the traveling experience from a local's perspective, rather than relying on generic tourist information, and allowing us to forge friendships with people around the world.
On Thursday, 12 June 2008, join CouchSurfers around the globe in celebrating this member-created holiday.
In the spirit in which CouchSurfing was created, why not do a CouchSearch in your city and request to stay on another member's couch for the night. Have work the next day? Find someone in your own neighborhood or near your workplace!
Or check out the Events section to see whether an event is being held near you, and if there isn't, why not start one up in your area!
