Although most Indonesians are more than willing to open up their homes to overseas visitor, achieving good coordination and communication across thousands of islands creates a range of unique challenges for organizations like Couch Surfing.

While on one hand, spreading the concept of“hospitality exchange” and how it works is, in itself, a huge tasks to work on. On the other, recruiting new local members in often remote areas posses its own challenge for us.

  • Join the group to meet the volunteer
    If you are particularly interested in any one area of Indonesia, we encourage you to join the Local Group of that area. You’ll soon see that each of these groups have local moderators who are also there to assist you in any way they can.
    We strongly advises you to reach each local moderator directly through their profile as linked to on the group site.
    Many Local Group Moderators can assist with your inquiries by sms or email directly.
  • Languages in Group
    There are two languages you can use for posting in group and sub-groups in CS Indonesia group. English as main language and Indonesia after. We are also provide the tools for translations, as well as active member who will be willing to help you to translate it.

Local group Moderator are those who are NOT automatically the moderator of a Local group of places like an Ambassador towards its own city group locations.

    • Moderator: Most of local moderator of this group have many time table roaming Indonesia both for work and pleasures, do reach them for the latest travel-mate gossip around the country.

Ambassador

Ambassador are selected as individuals who both represent their city or region whilst embodying the spirit of CouchSurfing in their travels and whilst hosting and meeting up with other travelers.
Ambassadors can be a great point of contact within the local community and may be able to help you find a couch or provide that bit of extra advice, as always though remember they are volunteers and as much as they try they may not always be available.
