Camel Safari
The best way to explore desert life in the great Thar desrts of India is to undertake a camel safari.
Availibility The facility of conducted tour or own tour is available at following places:
- Jaisalmer in Rajasthan
- Kutch in Gujrat
- Shekhawati near Bikaner
- Khimsar near Nagaur
- Pushkar
- Osian near Jodhpur
Duration
Half day safari to two week package are available.Usually travelers prefer two days tour for approximately 800 Rs.inclusive of dinner,camp fire and enough blankets.
Precautions
- Wear sun glasses in day time,the reflection of sun rays on sand could be harmful.
- Carry enough mineral water with you and keep on drinking after short duration to avoid dehydration.
- Wear loose cotton clothes to cover maximum skin to absorb perspiration and provide breathing.
- carry some analgesic tablet,camel safari could be tiring
- Carry some analgesic ointment and apply on insides of thigh when you get down from camel.
- Do not consume drugs offered by local people while on safari.
- Negotiate everything beforehand ,the prices are inclusive of dinner,camp fire and blankets or tents.
- Make it clear whether you would be alone on camel or the driver is going to ask for a lift to enjoy a free ride with you.
- If possible carry a first aid box with you.
- Cover your head with scarf,cloth or turban like local people to protect yourself from sun stroke.
