CS:I Ambassador Kit

  • Indonesia is a huge country, with its huge potential for CS member as the forth country with the biggest populations in the whole world. It is logical to have at least 3 Country Ambassador in in order to build solid CS community in Indonesia.
  • However, at the moment, the Growth of CS Community in Indonesia are centralized to only few island with its regions who are actively involve in CS.
  • It is necessary to open new group in Indonesia which more spread and more organized community.
  • With only one Country Ambassador (which is consider NOT enough for whole archipelago), the future need of more then One City ambassador to volunteer as Country ambassador will help to build better and well organized CS community in Indonesia.

There are numbers of member who need your volunteering to built a CS community in your area which believe an well experience (vouches and reference) CS member are a good candidate to spreads the spirits. This should be reminder for each ambassador to built their CS Community since their application and statuses was approve in hope they will be able to make bigger and solid CS community

Mengingat; bukan hanya karena seorang anggota (secara mandiri) telah mencapai semua syarat dasar seorang duta (vouch,ref,etc) maka anggota tersebut dapat menjadi duta, tetapi dikarenakan jumlah anggota didaerahnya lah yang membuat pengajuan sukarelawannya dianggap perlu diluluskan.
There are some small number of CS community in one remote area which have active members full of vouches and reference, still those member are not automatically considered should become an ambassador. It take right amount of group of people to name a CS community so it can have a representative community leader. Your applications were approve because members in your area have reach enough numbers of group of cs-ers to have an ambassadors, this should be a reminder for each ambassador to serve and help their community for the appreciation of their status, since; it was not just because member had achieved numbers of basic conditions and she/he can become ambassadors.

City Ambassador Duties

New Member Welcome

The first and main City Ambassador duties is to Greet their local new member.
Back then, each Ambassador was able to see this privilege features in their ambassador page. However, Since 18 February 2008 Ambassador are No longer automatically have this New Member feature in their Ambassador Page, read this.
For the purpose of the wish of non ambassador member to greet other new member and also to back up ambassador who did not do their volunteering task to greet new member, all volunteer include ambassador are encourage to join the NMW team to have this features work in their page, read this.

Positive Impact of the new NMW group

  • NMW Group also helped each of new member received greeting contains Community guideline from Non Ambassador Member even when the new member own local ambassador not.

        Filtering Feature have been helping local Greeter (both Ambassador and non ambassador) to detect local new member in their area and/or international member with local language to send them greeting which contains local guidelines with local language for new member to join into the local community.
    • Number of Greetings sent so far
      • In each profile of New Member will have list of greeting if the new member HAD or HAVE NOT been greets either by Non Ambassador or Ambassadors.
      • This can help ambassador to detect if each of their new local member HAD or HAVE NOT greet by CS Volunteer.
  • In the same time, the change of this features also have helped to recognize when Ambassador actually doing their volunteering task to build their local community by finding and greeting new member in their area.
    • Ambassador who are participating in their volunteering duties to greet their own local member can be seen in NMW group include with their dates of joining, those who are not; will not visible in the group member.
    • Greeting from Local Ambassador
      On New Features of "Number of Greetings sent so far" each ambassador also can detect if another ambassador in same country or city HAD or HAVE NOT greet the new local member.

Local Events Organizing

Organizing local CS meetings is a regular task for City Ambassadors. Try taking this concept one step further. Talk to ambassadors or other active members in nearby communities to organize a big regional meet-up.

Organising Events

This article is part of Ambassador guideline to make events, gathering and meeting as part as community building. Since meeting tool for event are easily created, many issues about to have events as part of CS-ing experienced are questioned. The spirit for CS helping meeting organizer to 'SPAM' local member inbox for meeting invitation is not a free advertising, it is use to spreads the CS spirit. Meeting tools should not use for selling concert tickets and/or to golf clubs membership card launching.

    • If more then 2 people attend, ITS A SUCCESSFUL MEETING.
      Saying "no body in my town, no want to come to my place, no meeting" and so on and so on its not an Ambassador. We are here to build solid community Not TO WHINE AND WHINGE about it. There must be people there, our Ambassadorship approved because there are community there, not just because a person in particular area achieved certain vouches.
    • For some active meeting attendee ambassador, you will see meet regular participant too, they probably sick and tired listening to the same ole speech and discussions, Oh well, it is your bad luck as ambassador :) to keep assist and help others.

      As ambassador who take part and organized your local meeting, make sure no body go home without knowing WHAT IS CS About. We are in Asia culture where some people would be ask by their family or partner; "where have you been?", we expect them to answer "CS, new group i just join in, it does this and that", not "um, i meet this bunch of group, we drink, talks, got drunk and i got back home"
    • Topic
      So move on from your bad luck as boring person (ambassador) in a party. When the meeting are full of o'le attendees, talk about anyone else project, or ask about other places you guys might want to invade. It works to heat up the conversation, since everyone already knows (or hates) everyone else. Weather is just not great and yeah, football match is out of discussions when full of ladies attend.
    • No body is stranger
      Else, find new member you noticed that just arrived in their first CS gathering experience, while you let the normal conversation (about Mr X got broke up with his Girlfriend and Miss X getting married) flows, pull this new member in the corner and whisper the wisdom of CS spirit ; Because this new potential member doesn't know whoever they are, this work both ways, keeping the other party bound on and it will get the new participant still feeling part of the bound.
    • Shares
      While you browse around who are non regular event visitor, new members, members you know about to travels, and of course, encourage traveler who attend the event to share their CS-ing experience to the other. Let other participant hear other stories as proved of what you been talking about.
    • Connects
      Attendee list is effective to make sure when all people goes home, sober or not, each of them will receive information about who was in the party and who was not. Spreading everyone email and phone number IS NOT WISE, you may collects email but DO NOT post it in group or event tools, Consider to look AFTER SOMEONE ELSE PRIVACY. No body want to receive spams of Viagra because of CS Meeting. People will stop attending Your meeting.
      The effective way are;
      • You can put CS User name and spreads the information to all, both in email and post or even in meeting tools update.
      • This can encourage others to click on each of the participants and then... heres the connections begin;
      • Encourage them to write comments maybe vouch and joining group and best part; "Share meeting Pictures."

Ambassador and Local Events

Due to lack of meeting tools knowledge some of city ambassador have "No official proved" although they are recognized had attend and help organized community gathering.

City Ambassador Outreach and Mentoring

The main task of Country ambassador volunteering are to outreach and mentoring their city ambassadors.

Outreach

  • Targeting for New City Ambassadors up to minimum 8 City Ambassador in each several island, not particularly in Java only.

Mentoring

  • To achieve a target of having at least another 2 (two)Country Ambassador as partners in each regions of Indonesia; current Country Ambassador sets a program to open new groups in Indonesia and encourage future and current City Ambassador to be
    Country ambassador of;
    • CS community development in Indonesia Bagian Barat (West time of Indonesia)
      Islands included: Java and Sumatra within its Regions and cities
    • CS community development in Indonesia Bagian Tengah (Central time of Indonesia)
      Islands included: Nusa Tenggara, Bali and Kalimantan within its Regions and cities
    • CS community development in Indonesia Bagian Timur (east time of Indonesia)
      Islands included: Sulawesi, Maluku and Irian Jaya within its Regions and cities

Online Groups Management

  • CS:I Group Management Team lead by Vivie
    The purpose of Group Management Team is to have knowledgeable active member to volunteer in helping other fellow members who wish to be actively involve in promoting and building their area through Group Online. Group Management Team achievements:
    • Created total 33 province of places in big Indonesia Group, complete Group Descriptions, Local Time and opening Guideline.
    • Invite hundreds of NON GROUP MEMBERSHIP of CSIndonesia member to join in into each of their group of places.
    • Invited to over 50 active member to be involve in moderatorship of Group of places. Around 10 of them succeeded to be involve in.
    • More then 3 groups of places in Indonesia, besides Jakarta Group and Bali Group have been active since the start of this team works. And the list goes on.
    • The team have been sharing the knowledge as well as showing of sample of group online features to more then half of the current moderator, the list still goes on.
