Getting there

By Plane: There are regular scheduled services to London Stansted, Munich and Prague. You can use a bus to get to the airport, take the direct bus line No.76. The airport is the last stop so do not worry about getting off the bus.

For searching the best low cost air company see http://www.whichbudget.com.

By Train: There are plenty of trains coming into and out of Brno all the time - local, regional, national and several international. The trains are slightly more expensive than the buses. The main train station is located in the city centre and right in front of it is a large public transport terminal. For train schedules look at integrated timetable. Train ticket is about 300CZK one way.

By Bus: Travelling by bus is relatively cheap. There are quite a few service-providers and it pays off to check the prices. It is possible to go to other European cities with some companies and the prices are quite competetive. Favorite bus company which operates between major Czech towns and travels abroad as well is Student Agency or Eurolines. Bus takes 2.5h from Prague to Brno for about 200CZK.

Getting around

Public Transport Brno has an excellent system of public transport with trams, buses and trolleybuses. The regular service stops at about midnight however there are night-buses that will take you basically anywhere in Brno. Just get yourself to the main station (opposite the main train station) in the city centre and the night-service leaves every hour (1am, 2am, ...) The regular service takes over again in the early morning. If you´re staying for a longer time consider buying discounted ticket for several rides, for one day, one week etc. To find connections visit Brno public transport timetables.

Orientation

It is quite ok to ask for directions in Brno as quite a few people speak good English. You might as well consider finding a Tourist Information Centre to get some help and a handy map on top of that. It is no problem to find large maps, mainly in the centre.
