Everyone was a brand new member at some point, and we encourage people to become members. So explain to people how CouchSurfing works and what it is really about.

My first message I ever sent out was to an ambassador in Canada (Toronto I think) and went something like this… “I wanna try out couchsurfing, both for the experience and for the money saving. Can you help?” (I forget the exact message) He replied with, “No, couchsurfing is not about saving money, and my house is not a free hotel! Couchsurfing is about a lot more than saving money”. So I wondered what it was really about… My next message was a bit different! I have not looked back since!Magicpatmarker
