Birmingham, USA
Birmingham is the largest city in the state of Alabama (United States) and is often referred to as the "Magic City."
Getting In
From the Airport
The airport is located about 6 miles north east of downtown. The easiest way to get downtown is to take a taxi. Fare should be less than $20 with a generous tip. Others have suggested trying to take the hotel shuttle of a hotel located in the downtown area.
From the Train Station
The Amtrak train station is located at Morris Ave and 18th street right in the heart of downtown. Most locations should be walkable, however, the main bus station is directly across the street from the train station.
From the Bus Station (Greyhound)
The Greyhound bus station is located at Park Place and 19th street on the north side of downtown. Most locations in northside should be walkable, however if you are heading to south side you may want to take a bus. The main bus station is 7 blocks south at Morris and 18th.

By Foot/Bike
If you want to explore the Downtown or the Southside, you can easily do so on a bike. Most of the streets around Southside and Downtown have numbers instead of names, so its quite easy to find your way around. Most places around downtown are within walkable distance, however, if you do get tired of walking you can always hop onto the Dart buses which criss-cross the Downtown and Southside areas during weekdays. They charge 25 cents one way.
