Unlike the Austrian CouchSurfing Ambassadors we come from a Land Downunder and are the Australian Couch Surfing Ambassadors.
We keep a more official Roll Call of who we are in our CS Australian Org Wiki so look at these photos with a grin as we describe ourselves visually so that you might recognise us at an event or meeting.

We're really positive that in a year's time that the Sydney group will run by itself in that more and more people will be aware and understand and appreciate its social aspects and continue developing a greater community for all to share and enjoy. |

Robbie Collins, city ambassador for Woollamia Love meeting people and hosting international visitors. I also host wwoofers and have done for about 9 years. But that is wwoofing and one way of sharing resources and this is couchsurfing which is its own kind of sharing. I love to make my home a friendly and available place for travellers and love finding out about their world and its perspectives. We are home and keen to meet you!! Wild Duck, city ambassador for Nimbin many have surfed my couch, but so far i have been limited to visits with people i have met personally....i do get a few opportunities as i run a backpackers....i have couchsurfed in a tent organised by boomerang art on kauai in hawaii...he is a bit of a legend there and an amazing host, i can't wait to get back there....since joining couchsurfing i have met some amazing people who have come by here |

Ruth, city ambassador for Healsville We travelled around Europe for six months last year. We are stayed with many couchsurfers and had an amazing time learning about the fantastic couchsurfing spirit which we caught very quickly. We have made many new friends and hope they will visit us in Australia. I feel at this time in the world of violence and hate - couchsurfing shows that there are many people who still trust others and are willing to share their homes with complete strangers - but these people don't stay stangers for long as often they become very close friends. As the Couchsurfing moto suggests - CHANGE THE WORLD ONE COUCH AT A TIME: What a wonderful way to do it. We often host people on CS. we write recommend couchsurfers and write references. We had a couchsurfers BBQ Dec 06 and it was agreat success. We got to know more poeple and share stories of surfing, hosting and travel. We have had great experiences and continue to do so. We also keep in touch with our past hosts and surfers through skype - a great invention! |

Stenzelle, city ambassador for Perth I started out on my central America trip and the N America road trip alone, but, mainly thanks to CS, I made lots of friends and travel mates along the way. I have had a great time with CS - a great NYE party at a couchsurfer's house in NYC; surfing the couches of more than 30 people in the USA and Canada; joining in a laughter workshop and a pinic in Montreal; and 10 people have 'surfed' my car. Best of all, cheesy as this sounds, I made some friends!! |

Mike Benjamin, country ambassador for Australia, living in Melbourne I've become a CS addict since I got back from my travels in 2007 which inspired me to try and give something back to a community I received so much from. Unfortunately I'm not able to host at present, but try and get involved in other ways. I am one of the Australian Country Ambassadors along with MELBOURNEXPERIENCE. I look after the Northern and Eastern parts of Australia, working with Ambassadors in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory and Queensland to keep CouchSurfing growing. I also continue to work on things in Sydney and get to as many meetings as I can too. I am one of the CS Chat Leaders, help out by answering Contact Us Questions, and also send out the verification letters for Oceania and South-East Asia. If there's anything I can help with, please don't hesitate to ask, or if you would like to help out, please let me know and I'll point you in the right direction! |

I'll take you around Melbourne, or show you how to get places, or where is good and where isn't so good, but of course, all in my humble opinion. Hehehe. I've been first couchsurfed in Italy in 2006, and became much more involved when I got home. At the moment I mainly contribute by taking people on camping tours. |

GlobalTraveller2005, Nomdadic ambassador from Sydney I joined CS on 1st March, 2005. On 1st February 2006, I started and now moderate the 50s+ Travellers Group as I saw the need for this. There are now over 900 members in the space of two years! I spent hours and hours writing to each member over 50 individually to get it started and showing them how to join. In Sept 2007, I became a CS City Ambassador for Sydney so I could contribute locally. I'm also working on and am Co-Moderator for the Couchsurfing Project - User Inclusion - where we'll be extending the age groups which we hope will make members more active and social. We've now created all age groups from 18/19s, 20s+, 30s+, 40s+, 50s+, 60s+, 70s+ Travellers Groups. I also spend a lot of time greeting new CS members from all around the world. I really enjoy doing this. I would like to start a CS Travel Talk Dinner Club. |

Aussie Hugo residing in Victoria I first used CS when hitching around Eastern Europe, here I met a treasure-trove of willing people to put me up and open both their heats and homes. Since then I travelled a little more far and wide and have hosted a few people in my time. I am now a slave to the wage and am stuck in the throws of middle society trying to get along in the rat race, I welcome any and all distractions to take me to that happy place which is the life of the traveller! I try to be active on all groups I am a member of, and am always looking for interesting meeting ideas. I kidknap people and brainwash them into joining CS. When I'm on trains or in pubs, I talk to the people sitting next to me, in front of me, behind me and tell them all about CS. |

Matto, Nomadic ambassador in Newcastle We were ambassadors while travelling in 2005 but when we got back to Australia we didnt have frequent internet access that is required by Couchsurfing. Now I am travelling solo through Asia. I love meeting the Ambassadors of the places I visit and talking about Couchsurfing and some of the more detailed problems that are arising. I prefer to talk one-one and don't like spending hours infront of a computer. I also enjoy telling other cool travellers about the project and the fantastic people who are part of it. Whenever i couchsurf i try to encourage the hosts to update their security fields and to keep in touch with past surfers. As a surfer I always endeavour to be of no financial burden to my host i.e. to keep it as an exchange that a price cannot be put on. |

Jay Anderson - traveling, lots. After living in Melbourne for 6 years, I'm on the road again on a Round World ticket. My profile will give some clues to my present location. Wherever I travel, I run events, coordinate "lost" events which appear to have no direction, hang out at CS meets and am always up for a hot chocolate! (see my Mission!) |
