An 'Association Loi 1901' is the kind of status that students and the associative world use in France. Constituting such an Association seems to us as compulsory in order to set things properly, get insurances, etc. and hopefully start enquiring for and applying for grants for the Paris CSC project from the French government, regions, maybe the EU, etc.

Basically all you need to do to create such an Association is to write the status, designate a President, a Secretary and a Head of Finances, go to the 'préfecture' which is the French local representation of the government in neighborhoods then leave the papers there and get them stamped and published in the 'Journal Officiel' that is released monthly by the French government.
