Armenia is the capital city of the department (state, province) of Quindio in Colombia. With a population of around 350.000, it sits at an altitude of 1500 meters above sea level. The city was founded over a very rugged terrain marked by many canyons. Funded by Jesus Maria Ocampo in October 14, 1889.
